[Fanfiction] INQUIETUDE - Chapter 13

Chapter 13 - Scars

Chica came back from a dinner with Ricardo when she decided to go into the house of the eldest daughter to know how things were and she wanted to see her because she really missed her.

When the couple entered the apartment, they looked at each other wondering where would be the wake and who was killed because the facial expressions of the people in the room looked like that someone had died.

Ivan was sleeping in Luiza bedroom. Crying and weariness had caught him.

Rosa asked about dinner, but no one responded positively. The stomach of all looked disgusted. They could think of nothing but how things would be after that storm of minutes ago.

- Can Ivan sleep here, Helena? I no have head to talk to him right now - asked Cadu, running a hand through his hair.

- It's ok, Cadu. We'll take good care of him - assured Helena, smiling a little.

- What happened here, folks? - Asked Ricardo, giving to Cadu some space to pass.

Everyone looked at each other, but no one answered.

- Has something happened with a family member? What happened? Tell me, you're making me nervous - Said Chica, anxious.

Helena took her mother to the bedroom. She took the photos that were on the table and brought along with her.

Clara arrived at her new home completely anesthetized. His head was spinning and images of the fight popped into his mind. Hallucinating her.

Marina prepared the bath and Clara entered, sitting hugging her bent knees. The hot tears burned the skin below the eyes, but it was inevitable. That night, besides Marina, the tears would be her company.

When she left the bathroom, Clara remained shrouded in a fuzzy and cozy bathrobe. She remembered the hugs she received from her mother when she was a child and new tears rolled down her face. She couldn't imagine that the pursuit of happiness would hurt so much.

She didn't know how her mom would react, nor her son. And that scared her.

Clara sat on the bed motionless, her gaze stopped at some point lost that huge bedroom. Her new bedroom. Her new bed. Her new company. Her new love.

Marina left the closet with a small black briefcase and sat on the bed next to Clara. Before beginning her work as an amateur nurse, she pulled Clara into her arms, lacing her fingers with wet hair.

- I'll take care of that wound - said Marina, opening the small briefcase - Are you sure you don't need to go to the doctor? And if it need some stitches?

- No! - Said Clara, touching the wound with her finger - I'm fine.

Marina turned Clara's face to light source on the right. She held the chin of her beloved between her fingers and, with the other hand, she wiped and dried the wound.

- Your lip is swollen - Marina watched as she pressed the wound with gauze.

- In a little while will improve - Clara said, running her hand the teary eyes - In a little while everything improves.

Clara whimpered when Marina spent a cicatrizant liquid. After taking care of the small wound Clara pushed the case for the middle of the bed and sought Marina's arms. She plunged into the hair of the photographer, feeling the familiar scent of peace and tranquility. Her jaw touched the neck of Marina and Clara stifled a groan that Marina realized.

- If you whimpered again I'll tie you in the car seat and take you to the doctor, you want to or not - said Marina an authoritative tone accompanied by a caress.

Clara sniffled and Marina clutched her into her arms. The photographer reminded of useless warnings that Vanessa had given to her when she realized she was falling in love, of the fear she felt when she realized it was passion. She remembered when she saw her in the exhibition, the looks and the handshake that they gave. A film went through her mind when Clara made her heart stop beating for a few seconds.

- I love you - Clara said.

Clara didn't see, but Marina had, in her lips, the brighter smile in the world.

- Do you love me? - Asked the photographer not believing.

- Yup - Clara confirmed moving away from the hug. She looked in Marina's eyes and stroked her face with her fingers.
Marina closed her eyes enchanted.

- I love you, Marina. Very much. Today, more than ever, I'm sure of what I feel for you and it's love. - Clara continued, whispering.

Marina couldn't respond verbally. Her smiling lips felt tears of happiness flowing into them.

Marina pressed her lips to Clara's lips and when she felt the lips move, Clara whimpered again and moved away the mouth of Marina.

She made an annoyed face and shook her head negatively while Marina shook her head affirmatively.

- It may be nothing, but it may be that idiot has hurt you - said Marina, grabbing the car keys on the nightstand.

Reluctantly, Clara took off the robe and put a Marina's dress. Dried her hair with a towel and came out with her beloved.

After telling the story in detail to the mother, Helena showed two photos of several that had that envelope. Chica wanted to see the other, but Helena was reluctant. The mother's reaction was not the best, was not the worst, Helena just couldn't decipher and therefore thought it best not to show too much.

- I wasn't supposed to have told you all this. Clara is the right person, but you arrived at exactly the time the hurricane had passed, I couldn't leave you in the rubble without an explanation - Helena said to mother who remained silent. - Say something, your silence is killing me.

- I don't know what to say - Chica said visibly stunned - Clara ... Clara must have gone insane. She threw away a marriage of many years because of an adventure. With a woman ... it's so much for my mind.

- I don't think it's an adventure.

- And you knew it all along and didn't tell me. Why?

- Beause this story is not mine, mom. I've been here for Clara every time she asked. She was scared. I didn't know what to do ...

- And where is she now?

- She went to Marina's house. It seems that she will be living there until Cadu get a place - Helena explained.

- And Ivan? Poor kid, my grandson in the middle of this crossfire.

- He's asleep in Luiza's bedroom. He's scared, not understanding what happened. Clara not talked to him yet, and I think she should do this before Cadu describes Clara as a monster.

- What I, as a mother, should do? I don't know how to handle it, Leninha - Chica said with tears in her eyes.

- Now, Clara needs us. Just that.
